Not everyone even likes sweet things for breakfast, and often times even people who do, only want it once in a while. Like anything else it’s very optional and taste dependent. Something like Pop Tarts are marketed to children because they’re overly sweet. So it’s not entirely unprecedented, it’s just taken to an extreme.
